The music video I made for the track Coming Home by Shout Out Out Out Out featuring Cadence Weapon finally gets its web release on Spin right here.
August-05-2009
It's been some time since updates. I think the whole site is ready for an overhaul. The second half of the Shout Out Out Out Out Tour was good. Among the cities were Chicago, NYC, Montreal and Toronto.... and so on. We had SmallTown DJ's who were an amazing entertaining pleasure to have on the road, changing up the travel dynamic for the best with 'Eavy Chunes' and invented movie titles such as Immortal Combat. Those dudes can set the mood and rock any room they enter. The technical issues of the Coming Home Edit are solved, scheduling and prep for Remind Me In Dark Times has been pushed in the interest of paying the rent and turning on the power. I didn't reintegrate back into Edmonton as smooth as could be. My work didn't fit the space and distraction/complication were set in my mind. Now sorted and clear, updates are almost ready for posting. I'm leaving it up to the band to handle the material as they see fit.
For now there are the What Part Questions:
as well as the Loading/Unloading Tease and the City To City Montage.

Loving thoughts go out to my family. All we have is our health.
Stay tuned for the new videos...

It's good to be home for a time. Jocelyn was more than missed. Many adventures from the road.. including a chat with Shepard Fairey at the Fader Fort in Austin. Shout Out killed it day and night and won over every crowd large or small. Jason Borys might be the nicest audio technician of all time.

Happy New Year!!! Flying back from Cuba today... the place is time-travel. Away from the resorts in Havana is where time stands still, you get a sense here for their real culture and the pride they have in it. Cuba, a place of conflict and conquer since the conquistadors drove the original natives to extinction, and then the removal of the Spanish by the Cubans finally with the help of the Americans, and then the removal of the Americans and uprising of the people with the efforts of a young lawyer turned politician in Castro, and doctor turned military leader in Che. It was an opposite side of the propaganda machine, in favour of Castro and the mixed results they live in today. No one goes hungry, but no real progress either. We were their on the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the revolution. Endless beaches with clear water and endless dark rum and ice. Miss H turned golden brown while I swam in the sea. It was a chance to clear my head for the upcoming year, write some words, eat some fresh fish, sail in a catamaran, and so on. I saw where Hemingway drank his mojito's, and where he was inspired to write The Old Man And The Sea, but felt more at home in my own rum diaries, pen&cohiba in hand.
December-25-2008
Off to Cuba. Instead of eating and spending, its time for sea, salt, and sun.
December-23-2008
I helped my friend Nikelas Johnson aka Smokey do a lo-fi VHS shoot of his band Field and Stream as they played Christmas songs into the night at the Birchheart Basement. I was without blank tapes so the recording went over top of Romancing The Stone. The quality was outstanding.

The Cheaper Show 08 is a huge success. The biggest show of the year in Vancouver. I had three pieces on the wall and was very much humbled by the variety and quality of everyones work. Thanks to all involved in putting on the event. Special thanks to Meghan Paterson. Dr. Hope is good on paper, canvas... in time. It was great to have Darcy Davis and Bernie at the show, as well as Angela Brown and of course Mateus Gyosa.
May-24&25-2008
Girls just want to have fun.
May-15-2008
Opening night of The Elephant Man. A play directed by Michael Peng. I was asked to make some motion work to be rear projected through out the play to accent certain moments of the production. This is a challenge in finding the balance and tone that complements the stage performance. We decide to use and alter selections of art history thematic arcs in the story. Michael Peng makes great choices in his take on the play and it is very well received.

Finished shooting some special effects tests in Vancouver with Darcy Davis Effects, featuring the onscreen presence of Daryl Davis... the heat is on. Though the schedule is full, it is long overdue that I meet face-to-face one Meghan Paterson, artist and currator of Mercy Gallery. Good conversation leads to more good conversation. Now back to work work work. Many other projects on the go, will fill you in soonish.

378 Studio Beta has its last day at 103'rd and Jasper. The plot behinds this is thick. Film partner LeTesh and I find a new location blocks away and plan our renovations. I have soooo much stuff categorized as prop as well as theatre seating. Anna and Josh and Daryl and Lorne are great help.
November-02-2007
Time goes by. Over a month now since my friend and collaborator Ross Moroz has died. My feelings have been sinking ever since. Ross hired me to make art frequently through VUE. He continually inspired me. He was dripping with charisma and thoughtfulness. Those same traits got me out on the basketball court with him and a bunch of tall good basketball playing dudes... the most Teen Wolf moments of my life. The last time I saw him, I took a picture of him donating cash to a Padmanadi Fundraiser, we both agreed it had the look of him robbing cash from the bowl. The last time I would speak to him, he was calling me to make sure I was well. We had planned to collaborate on a series of animations for use as videos for his band. I will forever wonder what he had in mind and where it would have gone.
September-29-2007
The wedding day for Nathan & Anya is upon us. They take their vows and form the union as Nathanya. Months before, after long-distance cross continental phone calls, a fantastic association free zone of discussion, several drinks, and a group hug... a Photographer & Bride & Groom relationship is made. It is only under the right circumstances and star alignment that this can occur. We were all down with the candid approach; they put me at ease with their confidence, trust and loving way. In the shadows and corner, at the back of every frame, I was a Ninja taking wedding pictures. Seriously. And then dance and scotch photos... and so on.
September-22-2007
Wedding bells for Bryan and Meghann. Hannah and I join them for a lovely ceremony at Fort Edmonton Park. It will be some time before I get their photos and wedding present to them. A Miss Melyssa Neilson draws me her business card for her company Melncoly.

June-01-2007
A fantastic time the night before. Excessive to out of hand, I was in no way driving by the end of it. We took over the dance floor at the Short Stop.
May-31-2007
I am to be the Maid/Man of Honour at Marilyn's wedding to Tim. Tonight is the Bachelourette Party. We are going to a 70's Roller Rink, then drinks and dancing, and so on. I've rented a Jeep Commander to take the team of ladies out/about.
May-30-2007
Purchase my first suit from two ladies Michelle and Shelley at Henry. They are most helpful, It is Dolce and Gabanna and it fits off the shelf. Later that night, Stella will inform me that I can't wear my Wallaby's with the suit, and hooks me up with a late night shoe shopping session. She is very much sweet.
May-15-2007
More TV commercials, more Illustration. Re-install of drives, should be stable for some editing... with intensity.
May-07-2007
Find that knott.
April-26-2007
Fly to LA to visit Marilyn and take her to Coachella. Before going to Indio, we hike into the Hollywood Hills, and go to the City Spa. At Coachella, we're not into the crowd, but many bands and time with my thoughts and best-mate make it work. Highlights include: seeing AIR, Interpol, Bjork, the Red Hot's play Higher Ground, Klaxons, Hot Chip, Amy Winehouse, Peter Bjorn and John, and especially RATATAT. Spec location for video shoot for the Beach Police in Santa Monica.

Later in the day I will drive Gail (mine mum) home from her shift of OT... she is a workaholic of sorts with comparable taste in music, I often make her driving music with titles such as "GAIL'S RAD DRIVING MIXTAPE '83"

JANUARY-01-2007
Happy New Year to the masses.
DECEMBER-31-2006
New Year's Eve, it was different crowd mixture of 80's prostitute and try_hard hair product and t-shirt graphic. Still, decent to dance yet odd to be spectator-like at the SHOUT OUT show. As always good to be alongside good fellows such as Johnny R, and Mike N, and Chris H, and the SHOUT OUT fellows, and so on. Also to meet the ladies of Six Shooter was swell. Stella wins, as she watches Star Wars Episodes 4, 5, and 6 for the first time.
DECEMBER-25-2006
Merry Christmas.
Nov-17-2006
MTV Canada and my old film partner Scott hire 378 to produce and co-direct a few spots for their winter season. We collaborate on the ideas, utilise the snow, as well as the Edmonton strangeness, and so on. It is productive-fun-cold-blooded-old times.

I Illustrate another cover for Ross Moroz at Vue Weekly, this time for a band called Fractal Pattern. Efforts are made towards a minimal full spectrum style in a Boards of Canada type feel... in the end it turns TRON-ish 1982 on me, like it was found in a Voight-Kampff test. Various versions are in the Illustration P3 section.
August-8-2006
Begin continual TV freelance videography.
July-26-2006
The Zissou & family go to Oahu. I have a lot on my mind, I surf, spend much time with loved ones, read The Rum Diaries by Hunter S, visit the North Shore where I had fond memories with Marilyn Gail years before, swim with fish and family in the reefs of Hanauma Bay, and discover Waimea with Stella. Somwhere on a beach in the seasalt, Doctor Hawaii is born.
July-2006
I melt with you.
June-30-2006
My father takes photographs of our descending Jet as we return from Indonesia to be greeted by welcome signs and felt drawn likenesses of ourselves as pirates. (there were also warnings of pirates from the Philippines in neighbouring islands, not to mention terrorist cartoons in airports can be touchy as opposed to pirate cartoons) These were made by Marilyn and Amedeo and Stella. Tim Lavaliere, a friend of Kasim, and Indo Tim's family were also there to welcome us home. All of the money/food was distributed and overall things went very well. This was distinctly a result of Kasim's tireless effort and spontaneous good natured approach to life.
June-18-2006
On father's day I Depart for Indonesia to the island of Java with Kasim of Padmanadi Restaurant. It has been just over a week since Kasim invited me to join him. Kasim and Padmanadi have raised over $10, 000 in aid for the recent earthquake that has displaced over 500, 000 people and killed over 6000. The approach is such to assist the heavily impacted villages that help is not fully reaching. Kasim plans to bring enough food into the area to cook for several days. At this time there is an official warning against Canadian's traveling into the area due to recent terrorist attacks, avian bird flu, and an active volcano with a growing poisonous cloud of gas. I am to photograph and make a documentary of sorts of the work relief. Since documentaries aren't my usual format, I also plan on attempting some fictional short films amidst all that will be going on. To achieve this I have asked Christophe Le Tesh, my film partner in 378 to join me on the adventure. Also to travel with us and assist in the work-relief/filming is Tim Indo, a frequenter of Padmanadi and one of Kasim's many friends, a climber and survivalist, he will help us stand out as whiteys. We have all gotten several needles for various things, some of which will be active by the time we fly out. I have made a will of sorts, and discovered we don't leave much behind in our possessions, it is only the memories attached that have any value... and so on.
Indonesia is a nation consisting of 18,110 islands in South East Asia. With a population of over 200 million, it is the world's fourth most populous country and the most populous muslim-majority nation. Time allowing we will visit Borobudur, a buddhist stupa and the largest buddhist monument on earth.

Necessity dictates the display of the site as is. Many of the pages feature a soon-ish destination of sorts. In time this will be refined, as well as the navigation towards a minimal simplicity. At this time there are some samples in the illustration-pages and its sub_menus, as well as the design-pages. Most of the photos in the still-page are still being collected with the exception of some NYC shots. We are work/progress.
JANUARY-24-2006
We are: on-line. Alive/kicking.
