BIO OF DR. STEVEN HOPE:
Born in Canada, he enjoys working day/night, rooftops, surfing when available, over-the-top dance moves, obsolete-technology, and brown rice.
He is thinking with intensity.

SOME RECENT ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
A fantastic project was developed to produce and shoot a series of station idents for MTV2 in Canada. This pitch consisted essentially of a large quantitiy of produced material in exchange for carte blanche creatively. The results have been well received.

A short film called Rock Pockets co-created with Trevor Anderson has gone around the world and won awards at the Iris Prize Festival, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival, Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, and is now screening at the Slamdance Film Festival .

Dr. Steven Hope has recently participated in the largest yearly art show in Vancouver called The Cheaper Show.

In addition he has Shot photos and documentary footage in Hong Kong and Bali and Indonesia after a devistating earthquake where as part of a small group, distributed food and money deep into regions not receiving aid.  Continually in the process of completing a new cut of his full length feature 16mm film Forever And After, as co-writer and co-director and editor.

To stay above sea level these days Dr. Hope keeps busy with motion-graphics, editing and producing work in television as well as illustration and fashion photography.

Upcoming projects:
Looking forward to making a documentary on tour with Shout Out Out Out; a band that is meant to be experienced live as much as they are meant to be heard on vinyl mid dance floor move.  A behind the sound look into the band dynamic of six members in a tour bus playing exhausting shows across the continent is expected to yeild compelling material. Zebra Society is also in the process of making some fabric based artwork as we as completing a collection of written and illustrated material.
